Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Are you accepting new patients?
  2. Yes, we are accepting new patients from 0-19 years of age. Please call our office and we would be happy to schedule an appointment. We accept most insurance plans.

  3. Can I see the same provider at every visit?
  4. Yes, you can. We strive to keep continuity as much as possible for well and sick visits. We encourage you to ask for your specific provider when scheduling an appointment. However, please be aware that for sick visits your particular provider may not always have an opening when you need it but we will accommodate you with another provider.

  5. What if my child is ill outside of office hours?
  6. There is always a doctor on call when our office is closed. If you need to speak with the on-call doctor regarding an urgent matter, please call the office, listen to the entire message and you will get an option to be connected to the answering service. The service will take your information plus message and transmit it to the provider on call.

  7. How do I sign up for the Patient Portal?
  8. Once you provide us with an email we will send you a link to our patient portal where you can log in with the username and password provided. Alternatively, you can call our office and obtain a username and password. Each child will have their own username and password.

  9. What should I bring to my first visit?
  10. Bring your child’s insurance card, your child’s immunization record, list of current medications (or the medications themselves for accuracy) and valid photo ID of parent/guardian.

  11. How do I obtain refills for my child’s medications>
  12. Prescription refills may be requested through the patient portal. If you have not signed up for the patient portal, please contact our office to obtain a username and password for each of your children. Refills may also be requested by calling our office and leaving a message on our prescription refill voicemail.

  13. How long does it take to have a school form/camp form completed?
  14. Please allow 4-5 business days for these forms to be completed. As a result, it is important to plan ahead if your child needs these forms prior to the start of school or sport participation. August is a very busy month for school and sports physicals and we will do our best to have your forms completed accurately and in a timely fashion.

  15. How do I obtain a referral?
  16. Many insurances require the primary care physician to authorize referrals to specialists. We will provide referrals to physicians participating in your insurance plan after evaluating the clinical complaint. We cannot give retroactive referrals for consultations not initially recommended by one of our pediatricians.

  17. What if my child needs to have a medication at school?
  18. Your school should provide you with a form called Authorization to Administer Prescribed Medication (exact name may vary based on the county where you live). Please bring form to the office and provide us with at least 4-5 days for completion.
